Enrolling to vote is the first step towards participating in your council elections. Voting council elections is open to a broader range of people than state elections. It's not just Australian citizens or residents who can enrol to vote.

The broad categories for council election enrolment are:

  • International students
  • Landlords
  • Body corporates
  • Group (joint owners/occupiers of a facility)

For first time voters

Have your say on who represents you on your local council by enrolling on your council's voters roll.
Enrol as a business

Business owners are eligible to vote in the council election area of their businesses.
Enrol as a property owner

Owners of properties that currently pays council rates are eligible to vote in the upcoming council elections.
Enrol as a non-Australian citizen

International students, temporary or permanent residents are eligible to participate in their local council elections.
Enrol as an organisation

Body corporates, group owners or organisations are eligible to vote in the upcoming council elections.
