Enrol as a business
If you own a business in a council or ward different to where you live, you may be eligible to vote in the council or ward where your property or business is located.
You can only vote once in each council or ward election, even if you own multiple properties or businesses in the council or ward.
Participating in council elections as a business owner is important as councils make many decisions that may impact your business such as building approval, food inspection, and footpath maintenance.
For example
Emil lives in Morphettville (located within the City of Marion boundary) and owns a business in Glenelg (located within the City of Holdfast Bay boundary)
He can enrol for the City of Holdfast Bay voters roll to vote in the City of Holdfast Bay election on behalf of his business.
Emil will get two votes. One for himself in Morphettville and one for his business in Glenelg.
