Enrol as a business

You may be eligible to vote in a council or ward election if you own/occupy a business in a council area that is different to the one you live in.

You can only vote once in any one election for council, even if you own multiple properties or businesses in the council or ward, e.g. 1 vote for Mayor; 1 vote for Area Councillor; 1 vote for Ward Councillor in each separate ward election.

Participating in council elections as a business owner is important, as councils make many decisions that may impact your business such as building approval, food inspection and footpath maintenance.

For example

He can enrol for the City of Holdfast Bay voters roll to vote in the City of Holdfast Bay election on behalf of his business.

Emil will get two votes. One for himself in Morphettville and one for his business in Glenelg.
